TP8.2.6 The effect of checklists on the surgical performance during laparoscopic cholecystectomy: A systematic review

Abstract Aims Laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) is known to be one of the most widely performed general surgical operations. However, it still associated with an increased incidence and severity complications especially during period a surgeon’s proficiency-gain curve. Certain could prevented by decreasing consequences surgeon errors. We aimed systematically review use checklists LC their effect on task performance. Methods A systematic was in compliance PRISMA guidelines. search carried out PubMed, ScienceDirect Cochrane-Library databases. English language articles published November 2020 were included this study. The terms included: ‘Checklist laparoscopic cholecystectomy’, ‘checklist surgery’, cholecystectomy’ checklist minimally invasive surgery’’. MERSQI score applied for quality assessment. research protocol registered PROSPERO register (CRD42021209118). Results results resulted 8862 citations, which 23 relevant citations assessed eligibility. final 9 endpoints equipment-related-risk events, numbers types adverse rate conversion open cholecystectomy, team communication coordination, number consequential inconsequential positive performance supported 5 high-quality studies. Conclusion application showed significant improvement surgeons’ envisage routine LC.
